About Talen Tools

Talen Tools is a manufacturer and supplier of tools for farmers, gardeners, construction workers and gardeners. Our assortment is particularly extensive and includes wooden handles in all shapes and sizes. Our assortment includes axes, shovels, spades, brooms, pruning tools, rakes and hoes. In short, everything for gardening. Talen Tools sells exclusively to garden centers, DIY stores and various web shops. We do not sell directly to end users.

History

In 1919, the great-grandfather of the current management), began sawing and planing wooden stems for the scythe trees and hay rakes of the many farmers in his home area. His six sons went their separate ways in woodworking and specialized, ranging from making furniture to tools. Several of those businesses still exist. The executive's grandfather was the one who continued making handles for shovels, rakes and scythes. In 1967, the company moved to the location on Geerligsweg. In the 1980s, the company began to focus in part on the garden tool assortment found on the shelves of garden centers and hardware stores. A turnaround from the farmer to the broader consumer market. The warehouse and office moved to one of Staphorst's industrial parks in 2003. Production of those stems moved to the industrial park in 2017. They are still made from ash wood and provided with a slight curve and a crutch. View history in timeline here

Logistics

Talen Tools delivers most garden tools via Tielbeke transport. Tielbeke transport aims to deliver the goods to the desired location within 24 hours. This ensures that we can deliver quickly. Due to the short lines between our sales department and the warehouse staff, an additional order can sometimes still be taken just in time.

Stock

Talen Tools has a very large distribution center in Staphorst. This is where our products are kept in stock. Talen Tools made a conscious decision to keep virtually all products in stock. This prevents our customers from having empty racks and minimises the number of 'no-sales'.
